Description

💊 Acrotac 10mg Product Description

Acrotac 10mg (Generic name: Acitretin) is a potent, prescription-strength oral retinoid medication specifically formulated for the treatment of severe, persistent psoriasis and other keratinization disorders that are unresponsive to conventional therapies. It is designed to significantly improve the appearance and symptoms of extensive skin conditions like recalcitrant palmoplantar pustulosis and severe ichthyosis.

Acrotac’s efficacy lies in its ability to influence cell differentiation and proliferation. As an active metabolite of etretinate, it binds to nuclear receptors (RARs) in skin cells, helping to normalize the abnormal growth cycle characteristic of psoriasis. This results in the controlled shedding of excessive skin cells and a reduction in inflammation and scaling, leading to smoother, healthier-looking skin.

Key Benefits:

  • Effective Psoriasis Management: Provides significant therapeutic relief for severe, resistant forms of psoriasis, including erythrodermic and pustular types.
  • Normalization of Skin Cell Growth: Helps correct the rapid and excessive cell turnover (keratinization) seen in various difficult skin disorders.
  • Reduction in Scaling and Plaque Thickness: Leads to a noticeable improvement in skin texture, scaling, and the thickness of psoriatic plaques.

🛡️ Precautions

Is Acrotac 10mg Right for You?

Acrotac is a teratogen and can cause severe birth defects. Women of childbearing potential must not be pregnant when therapy is initiated, must use effective contraception for at least 1 month prior to starting, during treatment, and for 3 years after stopping Acrotac. Liver function and plasma lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides) must be monitored closely during treatment. Alcohol consumption must be strictly avoided during treatment and for two months after discontinuation due to the risk of forming etretinate, which has a prolonged half-life.

DO NOT STOP SUDDENLY: Stopping Acrotac abruptly without medical guidance can lead to a severe flare-up of your underlying skin condition. The dosage must be tapered down under the supervision of your prescribing physician.

Acrotac 10mg is used to prevent organ rejection in transplant patients and to manage certain autoimmune conditions. Its active ingredient is Tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant that reduces immune system activity.

Tacrolimus inhibits T-lymphocyte activity, which reduces the body’s immune response and helps prevent organ rejection or control autoimmune reactions.

Take orally as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily. Swallow the tablet whole with water at the same time each day.

Yes, it can be taken with or without food, but taking it consistently with respect to meals is recommended to maintain stable blood levels.

Effectiveness depends on the condition. For transplant patients, it works immediately to prevent organ rejection, but blood levels need regular monitoring.

Common side effects include headache, tremors, nausea, high blood pressure, or kidney function changes. Serious side effects include infections or liver/kidney damage.

People with severe infections, uncontrolled hypertension, liver or kidney problems, or allergy to Tacrolimus should avoid this medication.

Consult your doctor before combining with other immunosuppressants, antifungals, antibiotics, or nephrotoxic drugs to avoid interactions.

Yes, under medical supervision with regular monitoring of kidney, liver, and blood levels, long-term use is generally safe.

Consult your doctor. Tacrolimus should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding if clearly needed due to potential risks to the baby.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose.

Alcohol may increase liver stress and affect blood pressure. Limit or avoid alcohol while taking this medication.

Store at room temperature below 30°C, away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Seek immediate medical attention. Overdose may cause severe kidney or liver issues, tremors, or low blood pressure.

Do not stop without consulting your doctor, as sudden discontinuation may increase the risk of organ rejection or worsen autoimmune conditions.
